Marginalised communities often experience minimal influence over their environments, or lives. ADCID’s whole system approach aims to give community members a meaningful opportunity not only to participate in theatre and art, but to empower visions for the future and influence their own lives.
Creating spaces that enable voices to be heard – through this safe space ideas can be voiced and norms challenged. Our workshops with youth foster critical thinking and build self confidence. By collectively sharing experiences and ideas through non verbal drama processes, deconstructing these ideas, and discussing the social implications youth engage in critical thinking.
Engaging community members on the issues that matter to them, working in partnership with community based organisations. Using ADCID's Socio Drama Topography (SDT) Process to explore the social landscapes around relevant issues through a unique, refelctive dialogical arts-based inquiry process.
A place-making approach that emerged out of the work in South Africa, in combination with the CrossGEN project in Niagara. The CrossGEN approach explores relationships, understanding and trust in the community.
